APC Leaders Warn of Potential Loss in Kwara State

Leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have expressed concerns that the party may lose the state if it fails to adopt internal democratic practices. Former Kwara APC chairman and governorship aspirant Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa declared that no valid primaries have taken place for the 2027 governorship election, arguing that the process leading to the emergence of purported candidates does not comply with party laws.

Saliu Mustapha, chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, described a recent rally as a spontaneous expression of dissatisfaction among party members regarding the handling of APC affairs in the state. He emphasized the need for fair consultation and inclusivity in decision-making processes.

Other senior party figures, including Yahaya Oloriegb and Lola Ashiru, echoed these sentiments, warning that failure to resolve internal crises could have serious electoral consequences. The leaders called for urgent intervention from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to safeguard the party's future in Kwara.
