Nigerian Troops Kill 30 Terrorists, Repatriate 700 Refugees in North-East Operations

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Nigeria reported that Nigerian troops, led by Director of Defence Media Operations Maj. Gen. Michael Onoja, successfully killed 30 terrorists and facilitated the return of 700 Nigerian refugees within a week in the North-East region. The operations, part of the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts, targeted Boko Haram and ISWAP elements, resulting in the disruption of terrorist leadership and logistics networks.

The troops conducted clearance operations in areas like Timbuktu Triangle, Kimba, Damboa, Gwoza, Hong, and Mubi, neutralizing several terrorists, including a notorious commander. Multiple arrests were made, and various weapons and military equipment were recovered during the engagements.

The sustained pressure on insurgent networks also led to the rescue of kidnapped victims. The military's success in weakening terrorist groups has enabled the safe return of displaced persons and contributed to restoring stability in the region, which has been plagued by insurgency-related violence for years.
