Amusan Achieves Season's Best at Diamond League Xiamen

At the Diamond League meet in Xiamen, China, on Saturday, Tobi Amusan clocked a season's best time of 12.28 seconds in the women's 100m hurdles, improving upon her previous best of 12.41 seconds. She finished second behind Masai Russell, who recorded a time of 12.14 seconds, just two hundredths of a second off the world record of 12.12 seconds set by Amusan in Oregon in 2022.

The race showcased the depth of competition, with Devynn Charlton from the Bahamas placing third with a time of 12.37 seconds. Meanwhile, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi began his 2026 Diamond League campaign with a fifth-place finish in the men's shot put, achieving a throw of 21.14 meters.

Enekwechi, an African record holder, aims to secure his third consecutive appearance in the Diamond League final. The event was won by Rajindra Campbell from Jamaica with a throw of 22.34 meters, while notable competitors included Ryan Crouser and Tom Walsh.
