Dickson Urges Ex-Govs to Support Successors from Afar

In an interview, former Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson urged his fellow ex-governors to distance themselves from their successors, specifically advising them to allow current governors the necessary space and time to perform their duties. He highlighted that constant interference could lead to disrespect and blackmail, suggesting that true support should be given without undermining their authority.

Dickson expressed his willingness to offer advice and support to the current governor, Douye Diri, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the state. He criticized the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noting that strategic decisions were made without consulting stakeholders, which he believes has led to a failure in leadership.

Dickson lamented that the party has missed opportunities to achieve its goals and urged members to remain hopeful despite ongoing crises within the PDP.
