Didier Drogba Supports Tanzania for AFCON 2027 Preparations

Didier Drogba, the former Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker, has expressed his willingness to assist Tanzania in its preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The tournament will be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan invited Drogba to help enhance the country's football development initiatives. Drogba, 47, is ready to collaborate with local authorities to improve sports infrastructure and youth development, emphasizing the importance of a sustainable system for long-term success.

Local officials in Tanzania believe that Drogba's experience as a three-time African Footballer of the Year will strengthen training facilities and academies. He praised the government's increased budget allocation for sports, indicating a commitment to the sector's growth.
