Cross River State Boosts Revenue by N46 Billion Through Digitisation
The digitisation of government services in Cross River State has resulted in an increase of N46 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) within less than a year, as stated by Ajoke Akinlabi, CEO of Nugi Technologies. Akinlabi reported that the state’s IGR grew by 60.6%, reaching N36.3 billion between June 2023 and May 2024.
By December 2024, the IGR was reported at N46 billion. Nugi Technologies has collaborated with the state on various initiatives, including revenue administration, land management, forestry, and citizen services.
The digitisation efforts have led to the digitisation of over 7,500 land files, with Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) processing times reduced to 21 days for government land and 42 days for private land. Additionally, measurable outcomes include a 50% increase in revenue collection within six months, a 40% reduction in response time, and a 50% reduction in truck-processing time in the forestry department.
The citizen-facing platform, My Cross River, also saw a 40% increase in reports and feedback, along with a 25% reduction in response times.
