FG Commends Cross River for Revitalizing Information Hub

The Federal Government commended the Cross River State Government for revitalizing its information infrastructure through the remodelling of the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation, now called the Cross River Information Hub, and the commissioning of a modern Government Printing Press. This commendation was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Thursday in Calabar during the official reactivation event led by Governor Bassey Otu.

Idris described the initiative as a significant investment in credible information and professional journalism, urging the state to continue investing in the training of media professionals. He highlighted the critical role of the new printing facility in preserving official records and enhancing government communication.

Furthermore, Idris called on journalists to uphold professional standards, especially with the upcoming 2027 general elections, stressing the need to combat misinformation and maintain the integrity of Nigeria’s information ecosystem.
