Dr. Peter Akp Sworn in as Bayelsa's Sixth Deputy Governor

Dr. Peter Akp was officially sworn in as the sixth deputy governor of Bayelsa State on Wednesday, following a ceremony held in the Bayelsa State Executive Chamber in Yenagoa.

This appointment comes after the death of former deputy governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who passed away on December 11 and was given a full state burial. During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Senator Douye Diri praised the deceased and urged the new deputy governor to discharge his duties with a fear of God.

He expressed confidence in Akp's capabilities, stating that he would be a reliable and trustworthy leader for the people of Bayelsa State. The event also included the inauguration of four commissions and the appointment of 14 permanent secretaries.

Governor Diri called for unity among stakeholders to work towards a better state and emphasized the importance of fulfilling promises made to the citizens.
