Otti Warns Companies Against Polluting Aba River

Abia State Governor Otti has issued a stern warning to companies discharging industrial waste into the Aba River, declaring it a serious offense. He highlighted the health risks associated with improper waste disposal, particularly as it affects the drinking water of local residents.

Governor Otti stated that his administration is actively engaging with companies involved in this malpractice and that punitive measures will be enforced against those found guilty of polluting the river. He also mentioned that the government has developed a comprehensive plan to dredge the Aba River, which aims to facilitate the free flow of water and mitigate pollution.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to protect the environment and ensure public health in the region. Otti's remarks were made in response to questions during a report at the new Enyimba Hotel in the government house in Umuahia.
