Dismissed Police Officer Arrested with Weapons in Plateau

Danjuma Yusuf, a dismissed police officer, was arrested in Plateau during an intelligence-led operation aimed at restoring peace and security in the region. The operation, confirmed by Captain Polycarp Oteh, a spokesperson for the operation, resulted in the recovery of two locally made pistols, 167 rounds of 9mm ammunition, pepper spray, a jackknife, a cutlass, a mobile phone, an ATM card, and 73,300 cash.

Preliminary investigations have linked Yusuf to an interstate arms trafficking syndicate involved in supplying weapons for criminal activities, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal elements in the area, and the police have called on the general public to assist security forces by reporting any criminal activities.
