Troops Discover Arms Factory, Arrest Five in Plateau

Troops from the Nigerian Army conducted an operation in Plateau State that led to the discovery of two illegal arms manufacturing sites. This operation, described by spokesman Captain Polycarp Oteh, was part of ongoing efforts to ensure peace and cut off the supply chain of illicit firearms.

The operation resulted in the arrest of five suspects who were caught in the act of fabricating lethal weapons. A comprehensive search of the sites yielded a significant cache of weaponry and industrial equipment, including nine fabricated AK-47 rifles, four empty AK-47 magazines, seven skeletal AK-47 rifles, and various machinery such as hand drills and welding machines.

Captain Oteh indicated that the recovered items are now in military custody for further investigation. The troops are continuing covert operations to eliminate remaining arms and ammunition already circulating in the area.

Oteh urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
