Dispatch Rider Killed in Lagos Tanker Crash

A fatal accident occurred in Lagos involving a dispatch rider and a tanker, confirmed by LASTMA General Manager Mr. Olalekan Bakar Oki.

Preliminary findings indicated that the tanker, registered as TTN 776ZQ, was allegedly speeding when it collided with the rider, resulting in the rider's instantaneous death. LASTMA officials responded promptly to prevent further breakdowns and to manage the situation, as an aggrieved crowd attempted to attack the tanker driver.

The injured driver was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital by the Lagos State Ambulance Service for urgent treatment. Police from the Alausa division intervened to restore calm and disperse the crowd to prevent further violence.

Mr. Bakar Oki expressed condolences to the victim's family and emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits, reiterating that reckless driving remains a significant cause of road fatalities in the state.
