Dispatch Rider Killed in Lagos Road Crash with Truck

A tragic incident occurred in Lagos where a dispatch rider died following a collision with a container truck along the Ilupeju Bypass. According to Adebayo Taofiq, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the rider reportedly struggled to navigate around a commercial minibus, known locally as "korop," which led to him losing control of his motorcycle.

The crash resulted in severe injuries that culminated in his instant death at the scene. LASTMA officials monitored vehicular activity around the Mushin axis and received a distress report, prompting immediate rescue and traffic control operations.

The deceased rider was found trapped beneath the trailer, and efforts were made to alleviate heavy traffic congestion caused by the accident. Olalekan Bakar Oki, the general manager of LASTMA, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and urged road users, especially those operating articulated vehicles, to exercise caution to prevent such tragic incidents.
