Diver Critically Injured in Shark Attack in Australia

On Saturday, a diver was critically injured in a shark attack off Michaelma Island, located southeast of Perth, Western Australia. The attack was reported around 11:25 AM local time (0325 GMT) and involved a shark measuring between 4 to 5 meters (approximately 15 feet) in length.

The Ambulance Service of Western Australia responded to the incident. This attack comes just two weeks after a man was killed in a shark attack in Northern Queensland, marking the third fatal shark attack in Australia for the year.

Australian scientists believe that increasing crowds in the water, rising ocean temperatures, and shifting shark migratory patterns may contribute to the rise in shark attacks.
