DJ Pretty Play Completes 300-Hour DJ Marathon Attempt

DJ Pretty Play, an Akwa Ibom-born artist, recently completed a remarkable 300-hour non-stop DJ marathon from March 3 to March 15, 2026, aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon club DJing, which is currently set at 288 hours. Throughout the 12-day attempt held at Bai Lounge in Lekki, Lagos, she showcased high-energy music across various genres, including Afrobeat, Afrohous, hip hop, and amapiano.

Despite facing significant physical strain, including swollen legs and fatigue, she remained determined and engaged the crowd. DJ Pretty Play encountered several obstacles, such as inadvertently repeating songs for four days, yet she persevered, taking only five-minute breaks each hour.

She received brief hospitalization for oxygen support during the marathon. Her effort was supported by high-profile entertainers like D'Banj, DJ Obi, and DJ Big N.

This record attempt represents a bold statement for African women in the global DJ industry, aiming to break stereotypes and inspire the next generation of female creatives.
