Enugu NDC Crisis: Anih Denies Impersonation Claims

Dr. Johnpaul Anih, the Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State, has been accused of impersonating party leadership and conducting a fraudulent congress.

The NDC's National Working Committee (NWC) disowned Anih, stating he is neither the state chairman nor authorized to act on behalf of the party. Engr.

He stated that a valid congress was conducted on May 6, 2026, at Aborigen Hall, with media and electoral officials present. Despite this, there were reports of violent attempts to disrupt the party's structure.

The NDC leadership has confirmed that no other congress has been recognized in the state, and legal actions are being pursued to address the situation. NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi was informed of the crisis but has not responded to the letters sent regarding the matter.
