NDC Structure Hijacked in Imo State, Claims Ex-Lawmaker

Uch Nwole, a former member of the National Assembly, has alleged that the structure of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Imo State has been hijacked by certain power interests, which he claims are manipulating the outcomes of the party's primary elections. Nwole raised these allegations during a press conference in Abuja, where he expressed concerns that such actions could undermine the NDC's prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He criticized the conduct of the party's primary elections in Imo State, stating that the official deployment of party headquarters to supervise the exercise was allegedly prevented. Nwole submitted a petition to the national leadership of the party, urging them to clarify the legitimacy of the primary election results and to disregard purportedly forged results.

He emphasized the need for justice within the party to avoid disaster in the upcoming elections. The NDC's Deputy National Spokesman, Abdulmumin Abdulsalam, acknowledged the complaints received from the region and noted the challenges faced in verifying the authenticity of the results.
