ADC Chieftain Urges Rivers State to Avoid 2015 Mistakes

Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), urged the people of Rivers State not to repeat the mistakes of the 2015 elections during the 2027 governorship election. In a statement made on Tuesday, Eze attributed the current political and developmental challenges in Rivers State to the decision made in 2015, when the electorate ignored the appeal of then-Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to reject Nyesom Wike.

Eze criticized Wike's claims of being able to determine the next governor, asserting that no individual owns Rivers State and that the era of political godfatherism must end. He highlighted that since 1999, the governorship has remained within the upland axis, which he deemed unjust.

Eze expressed confidence in Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, the ADC's governorship candidate, noting his emergence from the Ogoni axis, which has never produced a governor or other significant political leaders in the state.

Eze called for support for Pidomson to promote equity and rebuild public confidence.
