IGP Disu Urges Kwara Communities to Resist Bandits

On Monday, during a visit to Kwara State, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, addressed local communities, urging them not to surrender to bandits. He reassured residents that security agencies are committed to reclaiming areas affected by banditry.

Disu's visit included meetings with security officials and community leaders to review the ongoing security situation and operations against banditry. He highlighted that the police are already familiar with the security challenges in the state, having previously conducted operations to flush out bandits from forests in the region.

The IGP's message was clear: bandits are criminal elements that cannot drive residents away from their ancestral homes, and he called for strengthened cooperation between the police and the public to address these security challenges effectively.
