Nigeria Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals

On Monday, Dr. Bernard M.

Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs) during the UN Steering Committee meeting held at the United Nations House in Abuja. He called for stronger partnerships among stakeholders to enhance collaboration under the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2023-2027.

The meeting provided a strategic platform for the Nigerian government and UN representatives to assess the implementation of the UNSDCF and to deepen inter-agency collaboration aimed at achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Dr.

Doro emphasized the importance of the National Poverty Intelligence Lab (NPIL) in supporting poverty reduction initiatives and highlighted the need for innovative financing and technology-driven solutions. He expressed confidence that the committee's efforts would strengthen Nigeria's resilience and ensure that no one is left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development.
