Driver Killed in Lagos SUV Crash on Expressway

A fatal accident occurred early Saturday on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos State, resulting in the death of a driver whose Honda Pilot SUV lost control and overturned multiple times. Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs for LASTMA, reported that the incident took place near the Charity Bus Stop, heading towards Iyana Isolo.

The driver was trapped inside the mangled wreckage, which was severely damaged due to the impact. LASTMA personnel monitored traffic around the area and responded immediately to the crash.

Preliminary findings indicated that the vehicle suddenly lost control, leading to the tragic accident. The body of the deceased was extricated by LASTMA officials and the Mosafejo Police Division, who also ensured traffic flow was maintained to prevent secondary collisions.

Olalekan Bakar Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and urged motorists to drive cautiously, warning against reckless driving and excessive speed.
