Driver Dies in Crash on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway

A fatal crash occurred on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway at Chariti Bus Stop inward Iyana Isolo when a Honda Pilot SUV reportedly lost control and overturned several times, leading to the immediate death of the driver, who became trapped in the wreckage. Officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were on routine traffic monitoring duties in the area and quickly responded to the scene alongside officers from the Mosafejo Police Division.

They successfully extricated the deceased from the mangled vehicle and maintained traffic flow to prevent further accidents along the busy corridor. The State Environment Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) evacuated the victim's remains to the public mortuary, adhering to public health procedures.

LASTMA General Manager Mr. Olalekan Bakar Oki expressed sadness over the loss of life and extended condolences to the family of the deceased.

He urged motorists to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and comply with traffic regulations, especially during late-night and early-morning journeys when visibility is reduced.
