Truck-Bus Collision in Lagos Claims Four Lives

A tragic accident occurred on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos, resulting in the deaths of four male passengers when a truck collided with a commercial bus. The incident took place over the weekend, opposite Beechwood, as reported by Adebayo Taofiq, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The truck, a Howo model with registration number KNN 313 YL, was fully loaded and lost control, veering across the carriageway and violently crashing into the commercial minibus, known locally as a "korop." The impact led to the immediate death of four male passengers, while four others sustained severe injuries. LASTMA personnel quickly mobilized to the scene to assist the injured and recover the deceased, who were taken to Shenci Hospital Morgue.

The truck driver fled shortly after the crash, prompting the Nigeria Police Force to deploy to the area to maintain order and ensure the safety of road users. LASTMA's Olalekan Bakar expressed condolences to the victims' families and urged drivers to adhere strictly to traffic safety regulations.
