Lagos Enforces 2026 Parking Permits, Warns Defaulters

The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has initiated the enforcement of its 2026 parking permit regulations, as announced by General Manager Adebisi Adelabu in a statement on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The authority expressed concern over a significant number of registered customers who have not yet obtained their permits, despite multiple reminders and demand notices sent out.

The grace period for compliance has now closed, and operators who fail to regularize their status will face substantial fines and possible suspension of their operations. Adelabu emphasized that the enforcement aims to enhance compliance with parking regulations, improve accountability, and elevate the standard of parking management in Lagos.

She also mentioned that LASPA personnel are available to assist customers with the online payment and registration processes. Adelabu urged the public to cooperate with enforcement officers and report unauthorized parking activities, clarifying that the enforcement is not punitive but a necessary measure to restore order in the parking system.
