Imo Group Partners with NDLEA, Navy to Combat Drug Abuse

On Tuesday, an event was held in Ogbaku, Owerri, Imo State, organized by the Nsokpo Dynam Association in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigerian Navy. The initiative aimed to sensitize secondary school students about the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on their futures.

Mr. Mark Onyejiaka, President of Nsokpo Dynam Association, underscored the gravity of the drug crisis facing Nigerian youth and praised the partnership with NDLEA as a model for community-driven action.

The program featured presentations from NDLEA officials who discussed the dangers of drug abuse using real-life case studies and current national data. Dr.

Chika Umunnakw delivered a career talk titled "Dream Big: The Future Why Choices Today Matter," inspiring students to pursue purpose-driven careers and understand the long-term consequences of drug involvement. Reverend Father Joachim Onyeagam expressed gratitude for the partnership and announced plans to expand the program to additional schools across the Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
