Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji Arrested by DSS for Corruption

Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Science and Technology, was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. He was apprehended while attempting to board a private jet bound for Abuja.

The arrest was carried out at the request of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which is investigating Nnaji for alleged corrupt practices during his time in office. Sources indicate that the ICPC had previously invited Nnaji multiple times to discuss allegations related to the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology, but he failed to honor these invitations.

Following his resignation from the ministerial position in October of the previous year, public attention was drawn to the circumstances surrounding his departure. As of the time of reporting, neither the DSS nor the ICPC had issued an official statement regarding Nnaji's arrest, and attempts to reach ICPC spokesman John Odeh for comments were unsuccessful.
