DSS Arrests Gunrunner, Seizes 832 Rounds of Ammunition

The Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Kelvin Dugo, a suspected gunrunner, in Cross River State on Tuesday. Dugo was apprehended in Odukpani Local Government Area while allegedly attempting to deliver 832 rounds of live ammunition, concealed within food items.

The ammunition was reportedly supplied by another suspect, Azenda Barnaba, known as "Jagaban," based in Benue State. This operation is part of the DSS's ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal arms and dismantle gunrunning networks across Nigeria.

The arrest comes amid a renewed focus by security agencies to tackle the rising trend of illicit arms linked to increased cases of banditry, kidnapping, and communal violence in recent months. The DSS has intensified its intelligence-driven operations targeting suspected gunrunning and trafficking networks across multiple states.
