DSS Arrests Woman for Supplying Ammunition to Bandits

The Department of State Services (DSS) apprehended a 25-year-old woman named Nafisa Usman for allegedly supplying ammunition to bandits. During an operation, the DSS recovered 200 rounds of brand new ammunition.

Usman was arrested at a major motor park in Kano while attempting to purchase the ammunition. She confessed to being involved in the supply chain for bandits operating in Kankara, Katsina State.

Usman indicated that she had been in this trade for two months and was working with an individual she referred to as "soldier" in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The ammunition was intended for onward transport to bandits in the Kankara forest.

She identified another suspect, Mallam Haruna, as a contact for the bandits and claimed to have conducted transactions worth N5 million in supplying ammunition to Haruna and another individual named Sulaiman, a livestock trader based in Kano. Usman expressed regret over her involvement in this illegal activity.
