DSS Arrests Notorious ESN Commander in Enugu State

On Friday, the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Sebastian Odo, identified as a notorious commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in Eha Amufu, Umuhu, Isi Uzo Local Government Area, Enugu State. This arrest is the result of sustained intelligence gathering over several months.

Odo is believed to be the mastermind behind a series of violent attacks on police stations, which resulted in the deaths of 11 individuals, including five policemen, during incidents on February 26, December 24, 2025, and January 26, 2026. The arrest is considered a significant success for the DSS in combating insecurity in the southeastern region of Nigeria.

Residents of Isi Uzo expressed excitement over the arrest, noting that it may help restore peace in the community. Odo is currently in DSS custody and awaits arraignment in court.
