Concerned Nigerians Urge DSS Probe into Alleged PENGASSAN Plot Against Dangote Refinery

The Concerned Nigerian Consumers Forum has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate an alleged plot by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) to sabotage the Dangote Refinery. The group claims PENGASSAN's actions could jeopardize the $20 billion private investment in the refinery, crucial for Nigeria's energy independence.

PENGASSAN has accused the refinery of mass layoffs and undermining national assets, while the Forum argues these actions could lead to fuel scarcity and economic instability. The union's resistance to reforms and privatization in the past has impacted the fuel supply sector.

Dangote Refinery's recent workforce reorganization has also sparked controversy.
