DSS Mediates as NUPENG Calls Off Nationwide Strike

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has called off its nationwide strike following a truce brokered by the Department of State Services (DSS) and key government officials in Abuja. The strike, which caused disruptions in commercial activities and fuel shortages, was resolved after a meeting involving government representatives, Dangote Refinery officials, and labor leaders.

The agreement, reached after hours of deliberation, upholds existing labor laws and emphasizes the importance of adherence to regulations in the oil industry. The involvement of various stakeholders, including ministers and labor union leaders, played a crucial role in ending the industrial action.
