DSS Uncovers Arms Trafficking Ring in Gombe State

The Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a successful operation in Gombe State, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, Muham Alhaji Moham (55) and Sani Gesha (47), who were allegedly part of an arms trafficking ring. The operation, which followed three weeks of covert surveillance, led to the recovery of two rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) warheads and an RPG launcher.

The suspects were intercepted while traveling in a Toyota Corolla with registration number TARABA JAL475YQ in the Mararaban Tula area of Kaltungo Local Government. Preliminary investigations revealed that the arms were intended for delivery to a resident named Ardo Hamma Ari in Kukawa Village, Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State.

The operation also resulted in the rescue of a kidnap victim, highlighting the DSS's ongoing efforts to combat arms trafficking and associated criminal activities in the region.
