DSS Disrupts Bandits' Ammunition Supply Chain in Kano

The Department of State Services (DSS) successfully intercepted an ammunition supply intended for bandits, disrupting their operational chain. A suspect was apprehended at a major motor park in Kano while attempting to purchase ammunition concealed inside bags of garri and rice.

The suspect, who hails from Zango Village in Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State, confessed to being involved in the ammunition supply trade for two months. She identified a man named Mallam Haruna, who operates in the Kankara forest, as a key figure in the bandit network.

The suspect claimed to have conducted transactions worth 5 million naira to supply ammunition to bandits, including a livestock trader named Sulaiman based in Kano. Following her confession, she expressed regret for her involvement and indicated her willingness to cooperate with officials, disclosing information for prosecution upon the completion of investigations.
