DSS Dismantles Arms Trafficking Ring in Gombe State

The Department of State Services (DSS) successfully dismantled an arms trafficking ring in Gombe State, Nigeria, apprehending two alleged couriers, Muham Alhaji Moham, aged 55, and Sani Gesha, aged 47. The operation, which took place in Mararaban Tula, Kaltungo Local Government Area, resulted in the recovery of sophisticated weapons, including two rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) warheads and an RPG launcher.

The suspects were intercepted while traveling in a grey Toyota Corolla with the registration number Taraba JAL475YQ. The arrests followed three weeks of covert monitoring of a target network believed to operate across Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Adamawa states.

Preliminary interrogations revealed that the suspects confessed to delivering weapons to contacts in Kukawa village, Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the DSS to combat arms trafficking in the northeast corridor of Nigeria.
