DSS Arrests Mastermind of Kogi Church Attack

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended Usman, identified as the mastermind behind the recent attack on a church in Kogi State. Reports indicate that Usman was arrested at a hideout in Gombe State, where he had been staying low during the interrogation process.

He reportedly confessed to orchestrating the church attack and revealed his collaboration with Ibrahim Dang and Shafiu, who are involved in banditry and kidnapping operations across Niger, Kwara, Kogi, and Zamfara States. Shafiu admitted to participating in kidnapping and cattle rustling activities.

Additionally, Ibrahim Dang is noted to have supplied arms and ammunition to these criminal operations. The arrest of Usman underscores the ongoing efforts of the DSS to combat banditry and terrorism, which includes recent operations in Gombe State aimed at neutralizing arms trafficking networks and rescuing kidnapping victims while dismantling cross-state syndicates.
