ADC National Convention in Abuja Faces Security Challenges

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is conducting its national convention in Abuja, expecting around 3,000 delegates to participate in electing the party's National Working Committee (NWC) to manage its affairs for the next four years. The Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Police Force have established a significant security presence at the venue, conducting thorough security checks on delegates and journalists.

Melay, a member of the ADC convention planning committee, stated that there have been attempts to prevent the event from taking place, including efforts to shut the venue's gates and force organizers to vacate the premises. However, Melay emphasized that the committee is committed to resisting these moves, asserting that the party has fulfilled its contractual obligations to the venue owner and possesses the necessary documentation to prove this.

Melay expressed confidence in the ADC's growing influence and determination to challenge the ruling party.
