DSS Investigates El-Rufai Over Dadiyata's Disappearance

The Department of State Services (DSS) has renewed its investigation into the 2019 disappearance of Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata, a vocal critic of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. The investigation has led to the seizure of El-Rufai's passport at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja last Thursday, a strategic move to prevent his return to Cairo after a brief visit to Nigeria.

Sources indicate that the ongoing probe aims to examine possible links between El-Rufai's sons and Dadiyata's abduction, which remains unsolved six years later. Despite El-Rufai's claims of ignorance regarding the incident, his son's past social media posts suggest a hostile view towards Dadiyata.

The DSS's actions are part of a broader inquiry involving the EFCC and ICPC, as public calls for accountability intensify regarding the circumstances surrounding Dadiyata's disappearance.
