DSS Releases Wrongfully Detained Youth, Provides ₦2 Million

The Department of State Services (DSS) released Mr. Ya'u Moham, a young man from Gashua Town in Bade Local Government Area, Yobe State, who had been wrongfully detained.

The DSS confirmed through investigations that he had no connection to any alleged offenses. In a rare humanitarian gesture, the DSS provided Mr.

Moham with ₦2 million to support his reintegration into society and help establish a livelihood for his family. Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Yobe State Governor, disclosed this during his visit to the DSS Yobe State Command headquarters in Damaturu.

The visit aimed to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Mr. Moham's detention and eventual release.

General Abdulsalam described the development as unprecedented in public service, emphasizing the importance of upholding justice and human rights. Mr.

Moham expressed gratitude for the support received, while his father, Alhaji Muhammadu, showed visible emotion during their reunion.
