DSS Releases Nura Idri, Wrongfully Arrested Over Boko Haram

The Department of State Services (DSS), under the direction of Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, ordered the immediate release of Nura Idri, who was wrongfully linked to Boko Haram terrorism. Following a thorough review by the DSS investigation panel, it was determined that there was no basis for the charges against Idri.

As part of the compensation for his wrongful detention, he received ₦3 million to assist in restarting his life. Upon his release, Nura expressed gratitude towards the DSS for their kind treatment and support.

His father, Yusuf Idri, also thanked the agency for their generosity. The DSS has committed to providing psychological and medical support to wrongfully detained individuals and aims to uphold citizens' rights while ensuring national security.

This release is part of an internal review exercise initiated by the DSS to reassess prolonged detention cases and prevent wrongful detentions in the future.
