DSS Rescues Kano LG Secretary, Arrests Two Suspects

The Department of State Services (DSS) rescued Alhaji Hamza Durya, the secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area in Kano State, who was abducted on Friday night at his residence. The incident occurred when six armed assailants arrived on motorcycles and swiftly took Durya without firing shots, leaving his family unharmed.

Following the attack, the DSS coordinated an operation that led to Durya's rescue and the arrest of two suspects, one of whom sustained gunshot injuries during the operation. Ibrahim Waiya, the state commissioner for information, issued a statement on Wednesday, praising the DSS for their swift response and highlighting the operation as a testament to the ongoing security strategies in place across the state.

Governor Abba Yusuf commended the DSS for their efforts and emphasized the need for public vigilance in reporting suspicious activities to enhance overall security in Kano State.
