Gunmen Abduct Kano LG Secretary in Late Night Attack

In a fresh terror attack, gunmen abducted the secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area in Kano State late Friday night, around 1:00 AM. According to Sabo Yusuf Usman, the speaker of the local government council, the incident occurred while the secretary was asleep in his house.

The attack began when the secretary's son, who was sleeping in the outer compound, pretended to have a stomach ache and knocked on his father's door. When the father opened the door, the gunmen seized him immediately, while the son managed to escape.

Security operatives have reportedly arrived in Kibiya Local Government Area to investigate the incident and efforts are ongoing to rescue the abducted secretary. Kibiya is generally considered peaceful, although neighboring areas such as Tsanyawa and Shanono, which share borders with Katsina State, have experienced repeated bandit attacks.
