DStv Launches Competitive Sports Package in South Africa

MultiChoice has introduced a new sports-focused package for DStv, set to launch on September 17, 2026, in South Africa. The DStv Sports package will be available for R399 per month for streaming customers and will include channels previously on the DStv Compact package, along with extensive SuperSport coverage.

Subscribers will have access to Premier League and UEFA football, cricket, domestic rugby, UFC, WWE, and one United Rugby Championship match weekly. However, premium sports such as Formula 1, MotoGP, premium international rugby, golf, and ATP tennis will still require a DStv Premium subscription.

This restructuring is described as MultiChoice's most significant since the introduction of tiered packages in 2005. Other changes include the Starter package at R99 monthly and Select at R299.

The new Movies & Series package will cost R500, while Premium remains at R799. The prices mentioned are specific to South Africa and do not apply to Nigerian DStv subscription rates.
