DufuHS Conducts Nigeria's First Digital SUG Election

DufuHS, located in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, achieved a significant milestone by conducting the first digital Student Union Government (SUG) election in the country. The election utilized a computer-based test (CBT) voting platform developed by the university, which ensured transparency, credibility, and efficiency while eliminating irregularities typically associated with conventional elections.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jess Unek oversaw the process, which allowed registered students to participate seamlessly through the university's examination portal.

Students logged in to cast their votes, and the election concluded within a few hours, with results displayed electronically in real-time. The newly elected SUG executives are set to be inaugurated next week.

Mr. Joshua Nwafor, a special assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on student affairs, commended the university for introducing this unprecedented electoral process.

The election was described as peaceful and transparent, marking a landmark achievement for the institution.
