NSCDC Deploys 57,000 Personnel for Easter Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the command of General Abubakar Audi, has approved the deployment of 57,000 personnel nationwide in anticipation of the Easter celebrations. This extensive mobilization, which includes specialized tactical units and intelligence operations, is designed to strengthen security and ensure peace during the holiday period.

The deployment will cover all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of proactive measures to address potential security threats. Afolabi Babawal, the NSCDC's national public relations officer, emphasized the importance of maintaining strict surveillance and conducting both overt and covert patrols in high-traffic locations such as churches, shopping complexes, and recreational centers.

The NSCDC has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security formations. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to guarantee the safety of citizens and protect critical national infrastructure during the festive season.
