NSCDC Deploys 2,000 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 2,000 personnel across Edo State to secure the region during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Mr.

Saidi Akintayo, the commandant of the Edo command, disclosed this information during a press briefing in Benin on Tuesday. The deployment is part of proactive measures to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

The personnel include specialized units such as armed squads, female special squads, counter-terrorism units, disaster management commands, and monitoring teams, strategically positioned at critical public places, markets, recreational centers, prayer grounds, highways, and vulnerable points. Akintayo emphasized the importance of collaboration with other security agencies to ensure comprehensive coverage and rapid response to emergencies.

He urged residents to celebrate peacefully and warned against any criminal intentions, reaffirming the command's commitment to protecting lives and property across the state during this festive period.
