NSCDC Enhances Security in Rivers State for Easter

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Rivers State has announced the deployment of teams to various flashpoints to ensure security during the Easter celebrations, which are designated public holidays from April 3 to April 6, 2023. Ihemnacho Umeado, the spokesman for the NSCDC Rivers State command, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The deployment aims to cover recreational venues, worship centers, markets, motor parks, and major road intersections identified as vulnerable targets. Dr.

Joachin Okafor, the state command's head, has directed officers to maintain high professional standards and warned that unethical conduct will attract appropriate sanctions. The NSCDC emphasizes collaboration with sister agencies to sustain security efforts and has urged residents to report suspicious activities near security posts.

The command remains committed to protecting critical national assets and safeguarding lives and properties during the Easter celebrations while warning against criminal elements.
