NSCDC Deploys 2,000 Personnel for Easter Security in Edo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized over 2,000 personnel across Edo State to guarantee security and peace during the Easter celebrations. Mr.

Saidi Akintayo, the Edo State Command spokesperson, disclosed this deployment on Thursday in Benin. The initiative is part of proactive measures to ensure public safety during the festive period.

The personnel will be strategically positioned across the three senatorial districts of Edo State, focusing on public spaces such as markets, highways, recreational centers, and places of worship. Akintayo emphasized that the NSCDC aims to deter criminal activities and protect lives and property, ensuring a safe and orderly Easter celebration for residents, particularly those of the Christian faith.

He also noted that the NSCDC is collaborating closely with other security agencies to maintain comprehensive coverage and ensure rapid response to emergencies. Residents were urged to celebrate responsibly and comply with the law, with a stern warning issued to individuals with criminal intent to refrain from entering the state.
