Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru Reshuffles Cabinet, Swears In New Commissioners

On June 15, 2026, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru swore in two new commissioners as part of a cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across the state. Professor Omari Omaka was appointed as the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, while Hon.

Sylvest Nwite took charge of the Ministry of Environment. The reshuffle involved the redeployment of several commissioners to different ministries, including Hon.

Chidi Onyia to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and Hon. Richard Idik to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

Other notable changes included Dr. Ngozi Obichukwu moving to the Ministry of Aviation and Professor Adjokango to the Ministry of Market Development.

Governor Nwifuru directed that the handover process be completed immediately, urging the new appointees to justify the confidence placed in them and to consolidate the achievements of his administration.
