Ezza Nation AEISCID Warns Against Politicizing Festival

The Ezza Nation AEISCID, represented by Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu, issued a statement expressing concern over the potential politicization of the Ezza festival, which marks the beginning of the new calendar year for the Ezza people. The group emphasized the need for respect for traditional customs and warned that the festival should not be influenced by political agendas.

They identified that the festival, scheduled for June 30, 2026, was being organized without the guidance and approval of recognized traditional custodians of Ezza culture. The group reaffirmed the right to peaceful assembly and urged stakeholders to uphold traditional values to maintain unity among the Ezza people.

They called for the diaspora and all Ezza sons and daughters to remain peaceful and united, stressing the importance of protecting their cultural heritage from divisive political influences.
