Ebonyi Police Commissioner Urges Unity Against Violence

Hope Urunwa Okafor, the Ebonyi State Police Commissioner, has intensified efforts to strengthen grassroots security in preparation for the 2027 general elections. During a strategic engagement with Ezeogo Charl Mkpuma, the chairman of the Ebonyi State Council of Traditional Rulers, at the palace in Ezzama community, Ezza South Local Government Area, Okafor urged traditional rulers and community leaders to actively oppose political violence and cultism.

She highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in maintaining peace and security, stating that the success of the police largely depends on cooperation with community leaders and residents. Okafor called on royal fathers across the state to caution the youth against engaging in violent and criminal activities, warning that the police would not tolerate actions that threaten public peace.

In response, Mkpuma commended the police command for its swift response to security challenges and assured the commissioner of the traditional rulers' unwavering support in the fight against crime.
